Jamshedpur, Aug.2: Police today arrested four of the eight persons involved in the murder of Ajay Shah alias Tinku at Kagalnagar under Sonari thana area on July 29.

Those arrested were identified as Guddu Goswami, Ankur Singh, Jitu Prasad and Rahul Mahto, all residents of Sonari and in their twenties.

During the arrests, the police recovered two pistols, a magazine, one motorcycle, an SUV and three mobile phones from their possession.

Revealing about the breakthrough, Senior SP Prabhat Kumar said the murder of 37-year-old Tinku was the outcome of an enmity with one Manish Singh.

“In March this year, Manish Singh had a clash with one Raju Singh at Jugsalai. In the clash Raju Singh had sustained grievous injuries and had to land at the Tata Main Hospital for treatment. On the other hand, Manish had to surrender in the court as he was accused of launching a murderous attack on Raju. While Manish was lodged in the jail,  Tinku who was a good friend of Raju Singh had allegedly planned to eliminate Manish after his release from the jail. Manish had somehow come to know about this plan and eventually conspired the murder of Tinku, ” the senior SP said while addressing a press conference here today.

According to the senior police officer, after coming to know about his murder plan, Manish had set up a gang especially to kill Tinku.

He pointed out Manish and three of his associates have managed to abscond, adding that a special task force is making frantic efforts to arrest them all.

Tinku who was a resident of Khuntadih was gunned down by a gang of four bike-borne criminals near a shop on C- Road in Kagalnagar under Sonari thana area on July 29 morning.
