Jamshedpur records six fresh cases of Covid-19

Jamshedpur, Oct 22: As many as six fresh positive cases of Covid -19 were reported from various parts of the steel city during the past 24 hours.

In all 6,159 samples – both RT-PCR and Rapid Antigen Test ( RAT ) were conducted, the reports of which arrived late on Wednesday evening.

Health department officials said the positive cases were reported from Mango, Telco and Sonari.

With this, the total number of positive cases in East Singhbhum district rose to 21.

The district health department sounded an alarm bell over rising cases of Covid-19 post-Durga Puja.

East Singhbhum civil surgeon AK Lal said the positive patients are being admitted to Covid hospitals to check the spread of the virus.

He appealed to people to continue to wear masks and follow other mandatory Covid norms.

Meanwhile, the vaccination drive got momentum post the Pujas.

On average around 8,000 vaccinations are administered daily to people in the age group of 18 to 44 years and above.

Covid tests at the Tatanagar railway station and Sitaramdera Bus Terminus have been intensified, said health department officials.
