Jamshedpur, Oct 16: Four new positive cases of Covid-19 were reported in Jamshedpur during the past 24 hours.

As per reports available from the East Singhbhum health department, all the four positive cases were reported from Baridih locality of Steel City putting the health department on their toes post-Durga Puja festivities.

Data revealed that as many as 60 positive cases were reported so far this month.

Notably, steel city residents defied Covid protocols while venturing out for pandal hopping during the five festive days.

Even on Dashami yesterday, people came out in large numbers crowding the places like Sakchi, Golmuri, Sonari and elsewhere.

“Despite restrictions imposed by the state government, people failed to abide by it. We have issued an alert over fresh Covid cases. Efforts are being made to check the spread of the virus. But, people should continue to follow the Covid guidelines,” said an official of the health department.

Meanwhile, the vaccination drive which remained stopped for the last two days resumed at various urban and rural centres on Saturday.

The mass vaccination at the Keenan Stadium and Tatanagar railway station did not take place on Saturday.

Officials said that vaccination at both places will resume from Monday.
