Jamshedpur, Nov 23: The Sunday morning Jam@Street will be back after three years. On the lines of Raahgiri in Gurgaon, Bhubaneswar and other cities, Jam@Streets was first started in February 2016 and continued for two years post which it took a break followed by the pandemic. However, the most awaited weekly event is back with a bang that aims to make denizens healthy and fit.
The updated edition of Jam@Streets is to be presented by Tata Steel UISL, Tata Steel sports department and Tata Steel Foundation. Activities on the Bistupur Main Road shall kick off at 6 am and will end at 8:30 am.
“We are bringing back the concept of a healthy city. We want people to get out of their cozy blankets early in the morning and come here to engage in healthy activities. It can just be a walk, cycling or any other sporting activity,” said a spokesperson of Tata Steel UISL Sukanya Das.
To celebrate life on Sunday on perhaps Jamshedpur’s busiest street, you can cycle, skate, run and walk. People are also invited to take part in community leisure activities such as street games, dancing, plays, painting and yoga.
The Jam@Streets was one of the city events with the highest footfall even on winter mornings that gave families of the steel city a chance to spend a fun time together with their respective families and friends.
“Jam@Streets is the reason why you wake up early even on a Sunday morning. People around, interesting sporting activities motivate you to be there and enjoy the Sunday morning, a break from weekdays,” said Prasun Upadhyay, a radio jockey in Jamshedpur and a regular visitor of Jam@Streets.
