Jamshedpur to host annual conference of Jharkhand Academy of Pediatrics

Jamshedpur, Dec 2 : The 27th annual conference of the East Zone academy of Pediatrics and the 20th annual conference of the Jharkhand Academy of Pediatrics, will be  organised by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics ( IAP) , Jamshedpur chapter at Hotel Wave International’s convention centre from December 3 to December 5.

About 400 delegates and faculty, paediatricians, from eight states of the North East and other four states of  east zone, viz., Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha, will take part in the conference.

Dr. K. K. Choudhary, the organising chairman, informed that at the conference, doctors would deliberate on the signs, symptoms and treatment keeping in mind the best practices that should be followed.

The theme being ” Pediatrics for all”, the focus shall be on deliverance of good pediatric care to each and every child, even in the remotest corner of the country.

The dignitaries include Dr. Bakul Parekh,  president, IAP, 2020, from Mumbai, Dr. B R Master, Jamshedpur and Dr. Bhaskarmoni Chatterjee, Kolkata.

Doctors Sitesh Das, Joy Bhaduri, R K Aggarwal, Sudhir Mishra, Mithilesh Kumar and the president of IAP, Jamshedpur chapter cum conferance spokesman, Dr Mintu Akhouri Sinha, will be present during the inaugural function of the conference.

Jamshedpur had organised the East Zone pedicon, last in 2004 and has the privilege to host for the third time.

The event could not be held last year, due to the pandemic.

The last conference was held in Puri, Odisha, in 2019.

There will be a pre conference workshop  aimed at tuberculosis eradication in India, through early and accurate diagnosis of TB in children with proper treatment and follow up.

There shall also be another workshop on Basic NRP ( Neonatal Resuscitation Program) .

Apart from this, there will be quizzes for  undergraduate students of  various medical colleges of the zone.
