Dhanbad, Dec 2: The placement season 2021-22 kick-started in fashion for IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad students as 101 of them got job offers on the first day from multinational companies (MNCs) including those from Japan.
As per the list of selected students released by placement wing of institution (IIT ISM) late evening of Wednesday, 17 MNCs offered jobs to 101 students. Google offered the highest package of the day to six students (Rs 54.57 lakh).
The IIT ISM authority informed that after Google, Microsoft offered the second highest package of Rs 45.03 lakh to 19 students of the institution.
“Students are upbeat from placement offers by MNCs on the first day of the season. We are hoping that more companies will join the race of selection,” said an official of the placement wing.
“So far, total 264 students have got placed out of which, 134 of them enrolled into the jobs through pre- placement offers. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has selected the highest number of students (29),” he added.
Major MNCs that offered jobs on first day were Meesho (15), Flipkart (10), Amazon (9), Walmart (6), Japanese company Money Forward (6),Goldman Sachs (6), Navi Technologies (5), Intel (5),Oracle India ( 4), Bajaj Auto (3) Udan Company (2), Newzera (2), Sprinkle (1), Alfagraps (1), Indeed Company (1).
