Jamshedpur, July 15: A 28-year-old youth identified as Shiva was found lying dead at Barabanki village along NH-33 under MGM thana area, about 18 kms away from here on Saturday morning.
A resident of Cable Town in Golmuri, Shiva had gone out of his house in a joyride on his Scooty last afternoon as yesterday was his birthday.
At the spot where the body was found was lying his Scooty and also his smartphone.
OC in-charge, MGM thana, Kaushal Kumar could not say the reason behind the death.
“It is apparently not a case of murder nor accident as there is no mark of injury on the body. We have shifted the body to the MGM medical college mortuary for postmortem, ” said Kumar while talking to lagatar24.com.
The OC in-charge said they are trying to unravel the mystery behind the youth’s death by talking to the family members and also his friends.
Shiva would work in a transport company and had taken a day’s off on Friday for celebrating his birthday.
The deceased had come out of his house at around 3 pm, but by 7 pm his mobile phone was found switched off. It is also not known whether the youth had ridden towards Ghatsila all alone or any companion was with him during the journey.
A family member said one of Shiva’s friends had brought a cake late in the evening, wishing to celebrate the birthday by cutting the cake.
“But as Shiva did not return despite inordinate delay, his friend returned saying the cake-cutting will be done only after Shiva returns home. And in the morning today we got to know that he was lying dead along the NH-33, ” said the family member wailing uncontrollably while talking to lagatar24.com.
