Jamshedpur, Feb 1: A 26-year-old youth, who was a worker at an industrial unit in Adityapur industrial estate, was fatally injured as the bike he was riding rammed into a stationary trailer near Sudha Dairy along the Tata-Kandra road under Adityapur thana area about four km away from here on Wednesday early morning.
The passersby rescued the victim and rushed him to Tata Main Hospital where the doctor on emergency duty declared him as brought dead.
The body of the victim was later identified as that of Saurabh Nandi, a resident of Adityapur Bustee.
It was like a bolt from the blue as the news of Saurabh’s death reached the family.
OC, Adityapur thana, Rajan Kumar said that the trailer was parked along the road as it had a breakdown.
“We have seized the trailer and are trying to arrest the driver who is absconding, ” said Kumar while talking to lagatar24.com.
The OC, however, could not say anything about whether the tail light of the stationary vehicle was on or not.
Stationary trailers along Tata-Kandra road continue to cause fatal accidents in Adityapur, leaving duty-goers to remain apprehensive of unseen danger while commuting through the stretch.
A fortnight ago an industrial worker was killed in a similar way as the bike he was riding had hit a stationary trailer on the Adityapur Toll Bridge under Adityapur thana. The victim was a resident of Sashtrinagar in Kadma and the mishap occurred while he was returning home from Adityapur industrial area having done his B-shift duty.
