Jamshedpur, July 5: She has made her state and the country proud.
Swati Ghosh (40), a leading Indian artist who originally hails from Jamshedpur was among the 100 women artists of the world, whose name and pictures appeared on the screen of Time Square in New York.
She has once again made India proud in a foreign land, in an exhibition displaying historical paintings at the prestigious Palace “Palazzo di Acurcio” in Bologna, Italy from June 20 to June 30.
Earlier also Swati during many art festivals in different countries has been seen representing India.
Along with the Minari Group, other Italian artists were also involved in the Bologna exhibition.
Swati was also included in the world’s 100 women artists, which on July 2 in New York City’s Time Square was displayed on a large big screen, featuring her among several artists from India.
“It’s like a dream come true, ” she commented.
Swati Ghosh is an emerging name for Indian art. She is a member of a group called Minari which is based in Europe. Artists from many countries are present in this group. The group has displayed their art together in several exhibitions in Europe.
Swati was born on July 28, 1983, in Jamshedpur. Later, she completed her higher education from Kanpur.
In 2014, Swati started taking private lessons from Indian fine arts teachers at her home in Kolkata. She received a diploma in drawing and painting from the London Art College in 2018.
