Ranchi, Aug 19: Jamshedpur born and brought up Kanishka, a 2021-batch Karnataka-cadre IAS officer, has made a mark for himself during the first year of his training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie.

Son of former Tata Steel Executive Prabhat Sharma, Kanishka was bestowed with Director’s Gold Medal and Certificate for highest marks in Computers and Information Technology at the academy. The Loyolean, who cracked one of the world’s toughest exams, has come out a multifaceted person.

He has not just proven his credentials in academics, the young bureaucrat also had the opportunity to showcase his creative side and build his sporting abilities at the academy. And, he gives all credit to the academy for his all round development.

The electronics engineer from BITS Pilani won the AK Sinha Best Play award including for the best stage effects. And, won several medals (one gold, three silver and two bronze) in various sporting events namely swimming, table tennis and football.

“I do not consider these as great personal achievements but it surely reflects the 360 degree training we receive at the academy and the diverse opportunities it offers to the probationers. For me, I look forward to serving the people and when my service benefits the people, that will be some achievement,” Kanishka said.
