Janum Singh Soy from Jharkhand gets Padma Shri award

Ranchi, Jan. 25: Janam Singh Soy, Tribal Ho language Scholar, working for 4 decades for its preservation & promotion to receive Padma Shri in the field of Literature & Education (Ho language) has got Padma Shri award announced today.

Union tribal affairs minister Arjun Munda said many congratulations and best wishes to Prof. Janam Singh Soy, retired from Kolhan University for receiving the Padma Shri award for Ho language. Prof. Soy has contributed significantly in the promotion and upliftment of Ho language for the last four decades. He has also published six books. He hails from Ghatshila sub- division of East Singhbhum.
