New Delhi, Sept 11: Indian pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel are all set to make it to the team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, according to sources.
According to the sources, both players have recovered from their injuries and are currently working regularly at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
“Jasprit is bowling in nets regularly at NCA. The medical team is keeping a close eye on him, he is looking fine and he will come back most likely. The final test is not done yet but he will clear it. On the other hand, Harshal is also doing well and hopefully he will be available for selection as well. Rest all depends on final tests,” sources told ANI.
It’s expected that the ICC T20 World Cup selection meeting will take place shortly.
Due to injury, Bumrah and Harshal were both left off the Asia Cup squad earlier in August, and they both began their recovery processes at NCA.
Notably in T20Is this year, Harshal Patel has taken 19 wickets for India, placing him second behind experienced pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has taken 31. This year, Bumrah has only participated in three T20Is, during which he has claimed three wickets.
This year’s ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled to run from October 16 to November 13.
