Dhanbad, Jan 19: Jharkhand Council of Medical Registration (JCMR) today fixed January 31 as the last date of registration for post graduate (PG) degree inclusion with late fine.

JCMR registrar cum secretary Dr  Bimlesh  Kumar Singh said that the website of JCMR will begin functioning from January 24. The registration of doctors of Jharkhand for PG degree inclusion, NOC and Good Standing Certificate would be done through an online process.

“The doctors who have not got registered with the state council can file an online application for the same on the council’s website. Fee of application would be also deposited online,” said Dr Singh.

Dr Singh said that the council had given three months’ time (November 2021 to January 31, 2022) to doctors for registration of PG degree inclusion. From February 1, 2022, doctors of the state would have to pay a fine of Rs 200 per year as fine for  getting registered with the Medical Council.

Sources in the state medical council said that there are thousands of doctors in the state who completed MD, MS, DNB and other courses but have yet to get their registration (PG degree inclusion) with the Jharkhand Medical Council which is mandatory in every state of the country.

Though JCMR was formed in 2003, a new committee of  Dr Shir Pal (president), Dr Bimlesh Singh (registrar cum secretary) and Dr Pradeep Kumar Singh (treasurer) has made it functional.

“The state medical council would line up with the National Medical Commission and keep a close eye on alleged unethical behaviour of doctors of state and would not hesitate in recommending action against him,” said Dr Singh.
