Patna, Aug 21: On September 3 and 4, respectively, the JD(U) will convene sessions of its national executive and national council in Patna.
The two days will be spent discussing organisational concerns and the membership drive, according to party general secretary Afaque Ahmed Khan.

The discussions become importance in light of Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, severing his party’s ties to the BJP and joining forces with the RJD-Congress-Left alliance.
Infusing some new life into the otherwise dejected opposition camp, Kumar’s action has sparked conjecture that he would end up running for prime minister in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Notably, the national executive and the national council are the two most important organisational bodies of the JD(U).
