Ranchi, July 4: The Jharkhand Education Project Council is conducting a special drive from July 1 to 15 for the enrollment of out-of-school children in government schools. Director of Jharkhand Education Project Council Kiran Kumar Pasi had earlier issued instructions to all district education officers and district superintendents of education in this regard.
The State Project Director, while talking to a lagatar24.com correspondent said, “As per the new National Education Policy 2020, it has been resolved to work for 100 percent enrollment of children. Earlier, after the pandemic, a return to school campaign was conducted from April 5 to May 4 for the reopening of schools and enrollment of out-of-school children. These are separate programmes run by the department.”
She further said that the list of newly enrolled children has not yet been received by the State Project Office from all the districts. Along with this, a large number of children may have remained out of the list due to several reasons. Given this, it is necessary to run a new special enrollment campaign to increase the attendance of children.
Notably, under the new admission campaign, the details of the children of the families who came to the area from outside / abroad should be updated in the Village Education Register. Also, they should be enrolled in age-appropriate classes. Such a nomination is to be treated as a fresh nomination.
New enrollment will be taken in classes one, six, nine and 11 and enrollment without a transfer certificate will be considered as new enrollment. All the students enrolled in the previous classes should be ensured 100 percent transaction for the next classes. It will be the responsibility of the headmaster and class teacher to contact the parents of the students who are not enrolled in the next class.
Special attention is being paid to the enrollment of children going from fifth to sixth, eighth to ninth and ten to 11th class. Along with this, the cooperation of public representatives in the special enrollment campaign is also important.
The State Project Director has also instructed officials to obtain an Aadhaar voluntarily for all current/pre-enrolled students and if they do not have an Aadhaar one will be made for them at Pragya Kendra. The District Level Accounts Officer is responsible for taking bank details for DBT along with enrollment.
