Ranchi, June 29: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday inaugurated as many as 79 construction projects worth Rs 18,001.17 Lakh in Godda. He also laid the foundation stone of 10 important projects worth Rs 12,598.28 Lakh during a programme held at Damrughat Sundarpahadi in Godda.
Besides, Hemant Soren distributed appointment letters to 170 different people and distributed assets worth Rs 1,767.10 Lakh to 2,573 beneficiaries under different schemes.
In his address, Hemant Soren said that his government was committed to developing rural areas and ensuring welfare schemes reach the last people.
“Jharkhand can be developed only when our villages are developed and the benefit of the schemes reaches the last person of the society,” said the CM. He said that the government is set to launch various schemes to tackle malnutrition among children in Godda district.
“We are bringing welfare schemes to the doorsteps of people even living in the remote areas. Our government is concerned about the welfare of farmers, laborers, and youths,” he said.
Talking about welfare schemes he said that people above 60 years of age are included in the old-age pension scheme. Besides, youths are provided with an easy loan from Rs 50,000 to Rs 25 Lakh to start their business. Under the Phulo Jhano scheme financial assistance is provided to such rural women who sell beverages to start a new business.
He said that his government has planned to promote the rice processing industry in Jharkhand.
