Dhanbad, Sept 2: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) squad today arrested record room head clerk Krishnendu Choudhary of the deputy commissioner (DC) office while taking bribe of Rs 4000 for providing a copy survey campaign.
ACB DSP Jitendra Kumar Singh said that the ACB squad laid the trap on a complaint of Umesh Singh and arrested Krishnendu Choudhary red-handed with bribe money on the spot in the collectorate.
Krishnedu Choudhary had been demanding Rs 6000 from Umesh Singh, a resident of Maniyadih Pachayat under Tundi block of district, for providing a copy of survey campaign from record room of the collectorate.
Krishnendu Choudhary agreed to provide the copy on Rs 4000 after negotiation. But Umesh Singh also a complaint to the Dhanbad ACB office about the bribe demanded by Krishnendu Choudhary in the deputy commissioner office.
The ACB DSP first got confirmation of the complaint and later sent Umesh Singh with money to give Krishnendu Choudhary.
In the afternoon today as Umesh Singh gave money to Krishnendu Choudhary in his office, the waiting ACB squad arrested him duly.
The team along with magistrate brought him at his Hirapur based residence and searched the house.
The ACB squad brought him to office and began his interrogation.
