Ranchi, May 26: A sleuth of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Jharkhand unearthed approximately one crore cash from the official residence of a ranger of the forest department Vijay Kumar Singh at Manoharpur.

The breakthrough came after the ACB got a tip-off from its sources regarding the cash.

The ACB has arrested the ranger. He could not explain why he had kept such a big amount at his residence and from where he had brought the same.

A senior officer of ACB said further investigation is going on in the matter. The exact amount is Rs 9902450, he said.

Apart from Singh, the computer operator Manish Poddar was also arrested.

An ACB official said the result of the probe started on the information of Ganesh Pramanik, who said the ranger demanded Rs 2500 as a bribe to carry an old Palang to Jamshedpur from Manoharpur.
