Daltonganj, Oct 27: Inadequate and improper cleanliness in the Medinirai Medical College at Pokhraha in Daltonganj irked the Jharkhand Additional Chief Secretary of Health Arun Kumar Singh, who on reaching Daltonganj today rushed to this medical college only to find examination hall unswept for weeks together.
He expressed similar displeasure to see blackboards uncleaned for days. He also saw the principal chamber, library biochemistry lab, examination hall etc.
Sources said the ACS pulled up the agency Shapoorji Pallonji for substandard works like the one in some door frames etc reprimanding it that with the passage of time its quality will further deteriorate.
He asked accompanying DDC Megha Bhardwaj about the upgradation of the approach road to this medical college to which the lady officer is said to have apprised Singh of the issue of tender for this approach road. The approach road to this medical college looks like a chicken neck.
Sources said the acting principal of the medical college Dr R D Nagesh had to labour hard to explain things, especially in the context of as to who the authority was here to have reached an MoU with the outsourcer Balaji.
As per information, the ACS sounded peeved when he told the Palamu civil surgeon, Dr Vijay Kumar Singh, that he could reach the circuit house in Daltonganj through the Google road map only as there was none of them to chart the journey in the town to the circuit house.
Sources said the additional chief secretary of health had some humour when he said “He (Dr Anil Kumar) is the additional chief medical officer but he will say he is civil surgeon Garhwa. And this doctor (Vijay Kumar Singh) will say that he is just a stop-gap civil surgeon in Palamu. So how to go about this here.”
