Ranchi, June 9: Jharkhand Adivasi Vikas Samiti, on the occasion of Veer Birsa Munda Martyrdom Day on Thursday, carried out a march from the entrance of the Old Jail to the room where ‘Dharti Aba’ took his last breath and worship was performed as per the Sarna rituals.

Central President of Jharkhand Adivasi Vikas Samiti Prabhakar Nag said that even on the occasion of the 122nd Martyrdom Day of Veer Birsa Munda, the tribal society is not at peace because the Circle Officers posted in different areas of the capital have developed such methodology and techniques that the tribal society does minor works.

“The land of tribals is also not safe as many brokers have their eyes on the tribal land,” he added. He also mentioned that many circle officials, along with the land mafia, are illegally transferring the tribal lands through fake genealogy and fake documents. He mentioned Pulse Hospital as one of the prime examples.

Jharkhand Tribal Development Committee Executive President Jagan Linda said that even by paying money in the circle offices, no online work related to land is being done and there are lands which cannot be bought and sold, such as Bhuihari Khuntkatti lands have also been rejected and sold by the Circle Officers by filing mutation.

He further said that the CNT Act and SPT Act are being misused. He urged the youths to unite and act in unison on this grossly corrupt and unjust attitude of the circle officers.
