Ranchi, June 15: Advocate General of Jharkhand Rajiv Ranjan has turned Covid 19 positive. It is set to create a peculiar situation for two PILs against Chief Minister Hemant Soren which the bench of Chief Justice Dr. Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad is set to hear on June 17. Rajiv Ranjan appears on behalf of the Jharkhand government.
The two PILs 4290/2021 related to shell companies and 727/2022 related to the CM availing mining lease are scheduled to be heard by the High court. As per the schedule, the court is supposed to hear arguments on the merit of the PILs which will decide whether or not the investigation should be handed over to the CBI. The petitioner of both the PILs is Shiv Shankar Sharma.
In the past also, the Advocate General fell ill due to Covid 19 pandmeic. Coincidentally, on Tuesday (June 14), chief minister Hemant Soren sought additional time from the Election Commission of India in the office of the profit case stating that the lawyer representing him before the Commission has become affected by the Covid 19 pandemic.
