Deoghar, July 3: Agriculture Minister Badal Patralekh alongwith Deoghar MLA Narayan Das inaugurated the world-famous Shrawani Mela at Dumma, the buffer place between the border of Bihar and Jharkhand following Vedic rituals.
The inaugural function was marked by traditional chanting of Mantras by eleven priests.
Addressing the occasion, Deoghar DC Manjunath Bhajantri claimed that on the direction of the state govt, the district administration has arranged the basic and adequate facilities meant for pilgrims. The sand of the Ganga River has been spread over the Kanwariyaa Path from Dumma bordering, the entry point in Jharkhand to Khijuria, the entry point in the Deoghar town area. He also clarified that on the instruction given by the state government VIPs are not allowed to get any privilege.
On the other hand, Badal Patralekh addressing the inaugural function said that the state government and the district administration are dedicated to provide facilities to pilgrims but this is the need of the hour to come forward to lend support. He claimed that a large number of pilgrims come by flights here this year.
He also claimed that the state government is serious and chalking out a plan to make Sharwani Mela feel and look better.
The Deoghar MLA said that he wishes for pilgrims to get facilities so that they can offer ‘Jalaparan’ smoothly.
The function was attended by DIG Dumka Sudarshan Mandal, SP Subash Chandra Jatt, SDM Deepankar Chaudhry, DPRO Ravi Kumar and district president of JMM Sanjay Sharma, Jaishankar Pathak and others.
