Ranchi: The winter session of the Jharkhand Assembly has begun and the Supplementary Budget will be tabled in the House on December 8. After the budget debate, the Assembly will utilise the extended time to hold special discussions on multiple key issues, including law and order and the health sector. The decision was finalised on Friday during the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee.

During the obituary references, MLA Jayram Mahato raised the matter of the deaths of 16 migrant labourers, including victim Vijay Kumar Mahato, whose mortal remains have not yet been brought back. Appealing to the government, he emphasised that urgent steps must be taken to support the families and ensure the return of Vijay Kumar Mahato’s body.

Apart from the Supplementary Budget, lawmakers are expected to deliberate on major public concerns in the additional time slot. According to officials, matters related to law and order, healthcare, and other key administrative issues will be prioritised. With public expectations high, the winter session is shaping up as a crucial platform for policy discussion and accountability.
