Ranchi, April 15: A five-member BJP delegation knocked the Raj Bhawan door demanding a judicial probe into the ‘police repression’ and ‘lathi charge’ done by the Jharkhand Police during the secretariat gherao programme organized by the party on April 11 to expose the poor governance of the Hemant Soren government.

The delegation included BJP legislature party chief and former chief minister Babulal Marandi, BJP state president and Rajya Sabha member Deepak Prakash, national vice president and former chief minister Raghubar Das, state general secretaries Balmukund Sahay and Pradeep Verma.

Justifying the demand for a judicial probe, the delegation pointed out through its representation that the Hemant government has started a new tradition of crushing the mass movements against it and this was the reason that the government detained all the vehicles carrying the BJP workers to Ranchi taking the pretext of vehicle check drive.

Notably, the Ranchi police have summoned 59 BJP leaders, including Deepak Prakash on April 22 to reply to the violent incidents which allegedly happened on April 11 during the ‘Heman hatao;’ programme.

The delegation alleged the government of implicating BJP leaders in false cases and using batons on the peacefully marching 20,000 BJP workers on April 11.

The delegation while demanding a judicial probe through its representation made the governor aware of the corrupt practice being adopted by state chief minister Hemant Soren and his family members and continuous effort by the BJP to expose them in a democratic manner. Apart from this, the BJP delegation also made the first citizen of the state aware of the action being taken by central probe agencies including CBI and ED.
