Ranchi, April1: BJP parliamentarian Deepak Prakash demanded the inclusion of Yoga under the Skill India Mission for better job prospects for Yoga teachers, who are in high demand in India and abroad.
Prakash, who is also president of the Jharkhand unit of BJP, raised the demand in Rajya Sabha during zero hours explaining its importance and its rising popularity in India and abroad.
He explained how yoga played an important role in the war against the corona pandemic and how accepting its importance Yoga Day is celebrated across the country on June 21 on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also shared how 177 countries readily accepted the proposal of the Indian Prime Minister in UNO to declare June 21 as International Yoga Day.
Apart from including Yoga in the Skill India Mission he also raised the demand of propularising yoga ‘beyond the religion.’
