Jharkhand BJP protests against CPM leader’s murder outside Assembly

Ranchi, July 28: On the first day of the Jharkhand assembly’s monsoon session, the  BJP legislators staged a demonstration outside the assembly to protest against the murder of CPM leader Subhash Munda, who was shot dead at his office on Wednesday night.

They demanded a CBI probe into Munda murder case. The legislators also sought resignation from Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren for his failure in maintenance of law and order in the state resulting into murder of common people to political leaders.

The BJP legislators were carrying placards in their hands demanding capital punishment for those who killed Munda. The placards were also expressing anguish for rape with tribal women in the state.

Ajsu legislator Lambodar Mahto was also noticed in agitation mode but his issue was different. He staged a dharna to give subdivision status to Bermo.

Later, when the House came into motion, none of the issues could be raised. The house was adjourned till Monday after a condolence proposal was passed to express condolence over the death of those dignitaries who passed away after the end of the last assembly session and before the beginning of current session.

Those mentioned in the condolence proposal include state minister Jagarnath Mahto, former Kerala chief minister Omen Chandi, former Punjab chief minister Prakash Singh Badal besides other politicians, litterateurs, film actor, sportsperson, industrialists, army personnel and common people who died in rail accident, flood, electrocution, and heat wave.
