Ranchi, March 9: A delegation of the BJP leaders handed over a memorandum to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to demand investigation against 1994 batch Jharkhand cadre IAS officer Rajiv Arun Ekka.
The six-member delegation was headed by former MLA Gangotri Kujur who visited Ranchi zonal office of the ED along with spokespersons Shivpujan Pathak, Saroj Singh besides Yogendra Pratap Singh, Rahul Avasthi and Ashoka Baraik.
They met an assistant director rank official and handed over a memorandum signed by Jharkhand BJP president Deepak Prakash and BJP legislature party leader Babulal Marandi.
A couple of days back, Marandi at a press conference released a video of Rajiv Arun Ekka signing official files at the residence of a powerbroker Vishal Choudhary. In the video a woman named Nilopher is seen standing close to Rajiv Arun Ekka and watching him signing the files.
After this video, Chief Minister Hemant Soren shunted him to the Panchayati Raj department. He was supposed to be blue-eyed boy of Hemant Soren and was posted as home secretary and principal secretary to CM.
He was allegedly signing some files related to the jail department.
“We have submitted a copy of that video. It clearly establishes that Rajiv Arun Ekka was signing government files at the residence of Vishal Choudhary. This man is a broker and he is a suspect in the eyes of the ED also. In the background Vishal Choudhary is heard talking to someone about money. This clearly establishes that Ekka is the part of scams which the ED has been investigating,” Shiv Pujan Pathak said.
Earlier, the BJP delegation had met Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan to demand a criminal investigation against Ekka. The BJP said that transfer is no punishment and said that he should be tried under sections of Prevention of Corruption Act, Official Secret Act and Official Secret Act.
