Ranchi, Sept 3: BJP’s Godda MP Nishikant Dubey on Saturday lodged an FIR against Deoghar DC Manjunath Bhajantri in Delhi days after the Deoghar district administration lodged an FIR against him and others for forcefully taking clearance from the Air Traffic Control (ATC) for take-off from the Deoghar airport on August 31.
The MP lodged a zero FIR at the North Avenue police station under sections 124 A (sedition), 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 448 (Punishment for house-trespass), 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence of offense), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) and 120 B (criminal conspiracy of the IPC.
Nishikant Dubey who is also the chairperson of the Deoghar Airport Advisory Committee said that on August 31, he reached the Deoghar airport at 5.15 PM to catch his Delhi-bound flight. He informed that he was accompanied by BJP MP Manoj Tiwari who is a member of the civil aviation committee. He said that since the Deoghar airport doesn’t have a night landing facility he filed a petition before the Jharkhand High Court in this regard. As the hearing of this case is scheduled this month, he decided to meet the airport director to get the status update and moved to the official chamber of the director.
“Since I had less time, I walked to the office of the director barefoot. I was prevented by officials and cops of the Jharkhand police. They threatened and misbehaved with me. They did the same with my sons who were carrying my shoes. They were instructed by the DC. I came to know about the role of the DC the next day when the DC reached the airport. He came inside the restricted area of the airport under the control of the DRDO. Only the Prime Minister’s office can grant permission to any person to venture into the DRDO restricted area. When the airport director tried to make him understand the DC browbeaten him,” the complaint reads.
When asked the reason behind imposing section 124 A, Nishikant Dubey said: “this airport has strategic importance and it is controlled by the DRDO. He has breached national security.”
Earlier, Deoghar DC Manjunath Bhajantri ordered the district police to lodge an FIR against Nishikant Dubey, MP Manoj Tiwari Deoghar airport director, and others for forcefully taking clearance from Air Traffic Control (ATC) for take-off from Deoghar airport on August 31.
In the FIR lodged on September 1 at Kunda police station by the security in-charge Suman Anand it has been alleged that the MP misused his power for take-off despite Deoghar airport doesn’t have a night take-off or landing facility.
In the complaint, it has been alleged Nishikant Dubey and other persons violated all safety standards by entering the ATC room and further forced officials to give necessary clearance for the take-off.
