Ranchi, Aug.11: The State cabinet today approved Rs 20 crore as seed money to run the Jharkhand State Open University. The amount will be released during the next five years. Apart from this, the cabinet approved as many as 29 proposals. Cabinet co-ordination secretary Vandana Dadel informed this sharing other proposals.
The prominent approvals included increasing contract amount from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 5.50 lakh per month to each of the three pilots deputed to operate Dhurva chopper in the state and converting three fourth of Rs 6136.37 crore loan amount given to JBVNL in the financial year 2015-16 into grant and remaining fourth of the said loan amount to share capital.
Other important approvals included establishment of three police stations in West Singhbhum district, doubling advance amount given to police stations for day to day expenditure, Rs 34.70 crore for lining of important canals of the state, MoU to digitalise panchayat Bhawans, Rs 13 crore for hosting Asian Women Hockey meet from October 27 to November 5, making more government officials eligible for using airplane for travelling, police station at Sisai, Rs 35.70 crore for 44 court buildings at Ranchi civil court campus and MoU with Tata Medical Centre for giving health insurance cover of Rs 20 lakh to people suffering from critical disease.
Among the other important approvals include provision of bond for one year service at government hospital for the students completing their paramedical courses from government -run institutions and in case of non-execution of bond provision of payment of Rs 1 lakh to government, use EWS quota reservation by backward community students in the Lohardaga, Gumla, Simdega, Dumka, Latehar, Khunti and West Singhbhum districts, where there is no provision of backward class reservation and adjustment of 67 Bihar State Road Transport Corporation employees in service since July 1, 2004, nomination of NIELIT for conducting e-literacy examination and Re one as distribution fee for distribution of one kg of Chana Dal per family under provisions of Food Security Act.
