Ranchi: Several IAS and IPS officers from Jharkhand cadre are holding key positions in both the Central and State governments, showcasing their influence in administration and policymaking. From advisors to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to district administrators, these officer couples are playing a significant role in governance.

Prominent IAS-IPS Couples in Jharkhand Administration

• Amit Khare & Nidhi Khare

  • Amit Khare serves as Advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • Nidhi Khare is an OSD (Officer on Special Duty) in the Consumer Affairs Ministry at the Centre.

• D.K. Tiwari & Alka Tiwari

  • D.K. Tiwari is a former Chief Secretary of Jharkhand and is currently the State Election Commissioner.
  • Alka Tiwari has held several important positions at the Centre and is currently serving as Jharkhand’s Chief Secretary.

• K.K. Sone & Aradhana Patnaik

  • K.K. Sone is an Additional Secretary in the Jal Jeevan Mission, Ministry of Jal Shakti.
  • Aradhana Patnaik is an Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

• Rahul Sharma & Himani Pandey

  • Rahul Sharma serves as an Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat at the Centre.

• Megha Bhardwaj & Lokesh Mishra

Cadre Change for Family Unity

In a rare case of cadre change for marital unity, Lokesh Mishra (2016 batch) initially belonged to the Bihar cadre. When he sought NOC (No Objection Certificate) for transfer, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar suggested that his wife Megha Bhardwaj should shift to Bihar instead. However, after Jharkhand’s then CM Raghubar Das intervened, Nitish Kumar approved the NOC, allowing Lokesh Mishra to join the Jharkhand cadre.
