Ranchi, April 24: The Anti-Corruption Wing of Ranchi CBI has registered two cases on Saturday in the 34th National Games Scam. The first case is related to irregularities in the construction of mega sports complexes in Ranchi, Dhanbad, and Jamshedpur, while the second case is related to the purchase of sports equipment for the national sporting event without tender and related to other frauds, including purchase-manufacture orders.

In this case, the CBI has named RK Anand, General Secretary SM Hashmi, Treasurer Madhukant Pathak and then Sports Director PC Mishra as nominated accused.

In the 34th National Games scam case, case number 49/10 was registered by the ACB in the year 2010 itself.  Even after 12 years of the FIR lodgment, the High Court had ordered the CBI to investigate the matter and sent a copy of the order to the CBI Headquarters.

Notably, there has been a scam of about 28 crore 38 lakh rupees in the 34th National Games.  ACB had nominated National Sports Organizing Committee working president RK Anand, SM Hashmi, and PC Mishra as accused in this case. Many officials, including the then Sports Minister Bandhu Tirkey, Sudesh Mahto, will come under the scanner.
