Ranchi: Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar has directed all District Election Officers to speed up the addition of eligible Indian citizens to the voter list under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Jharkhand, with special attention to districts and assembly constituencies showing low growth.

Form-6 Applications Show 3.89 Percent Growth Against 8 Percent Expected

According to the report of October 22, 2026, the published draft voter list for the state’s 31,892 polling stations contains 2,21,01,249 voters. So far, 8,59,162 Form-6 applications have been received, translating into a 3.89 percent increase in new voters. An average of 27 applications per polling station has been received, whereas growth of at least 8 percent was expected.

District and Constituency Figures

Koderma led the districts with 5.80 percent growth, followed by Palamu (4.86%), West Singhbhum (4.85%), Khunti (4.38%) and Simdega (4.35%). At the lower end, Pakur recorded 2.85 percent, Jamtara 2.87 percent and Deoghar 2.89 percent. Among assembly constituencies, Dhanbad led with 6.18 percent growth, while Chandankiyari recorded the lowest at 2.56 percent.

Youth Outreach and Daily Digitisation Targets

Ravi Kumar stressed working with colleges and universities to make eligible young people aware of voter registration and get them to fill Form-6. He instructed BLO supervisors to monitor regularly and ensure that at least two new Form-6 applications are digitised at every booth each day. He clarified that every eligible Indian citizen should be on the list and that no ineligible or foreign person should be enrolled.
