Hazaribag, March 4: On a tip-off about drug peddlers transferring a consignment of brown sugar to customers, Chatra superintendent of police Rakesh Ranjan formed a team which raided a playground arresting four.
The raid was conducted in Ramtunda village under the Sadar police station. The subdivisional police officer Avinash Kumar confirmed the arrest and recovery of 2.15 grams of brown sugar, a pistol, an empty bullet, two bikes and five mobiles from them.
Kumar said after a tip-off to SP Chatra, a team formed under the leadership of Sadar police station officer-in-charge Manohar Karmali. The team reached Ramtunda village on the exact time on Friday when four peddlers reached there to supply brown sugar.
The four were identified as Rahul Kumar, Badal Kumar, Chandan Kumar and Mohammad Akram. All are residents of Chatra, said Kumar.
Other than 2.15 grams of brown sugar, police also recovered a pistol of 7.6mm, an empty bullet, two bikes and four mobiles from them. Kumar said after interrogation, arrested and four were sent to Chatra jail.
