Hazaribag, March 1: A team of Chatra police worked on a case related to cyber fraud by taking the help of a technical team to reach Deoghar to arrest the fraudster. Sharing this achievement today, subdivisional police officer Avinash Kumar said the fraudster has been identified as Uday Kumar Das.
Kumar said on Feb 23, one Iftekhar Alam received a call from an unidentified number. Alam followed what the caller on the other side said and soon Rs 50,110 was withdrawn from his account.
A resident of Line mohalla in Chatra town, Alam approached Sadar police after which an FIR was lodged.
Chatra superintendent of police Rakesh Ranjan formed a team led by Sadar police station officer-in-charge Manohar Karmali to crack this case.
The team took the help of the technical team to trace the number from which the call was made. They came to know that the call was made from Deoghar. Soon police reached to Korra village in Deoghar on Monday and arrested the fraudster, Uday.
Kumar said Uday admitted to committing this crime.
“We have interrogated him and he provided all details related to this crime,” he added.
