Ranchi, Aug.6: The 26th battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), which works to prevent transnational crimes and unauthorised entry into the nation, will receive supportive mental health treatment from the Central Institute of Psychiatry (CIP), one of the largest mental service providers in the nation.

A non-financial Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two groups, making this feasible.

Both parties have agreed to offer the necessary mental health care for the 26th Battalion, Angara SSB members in the state of Jharkhand. Since they serve the nation and need to have their mental health taken seriously because of the demanding nature of their jobs, CIP will offer them supportive mental health services.

The goals of the MoU are to comprehend the psychological and mental health needs of the SSB staff, to offer psychosocial support services, and to work toward enhancing their quality of life through appropriate mental health interventions.

The goal of the MoU is to conduct research activities to comprehend their problems and solutions for a higher quality of life.

According to the terms of the MoU, SSB and CIP will promote working ties for the overall welfare of the armed forces.

The focus of the CIP’s mental health specialists will be on providing SSB employees with mental health and well-being services, training SSB staff and Medical Officers to recognise mental health issues and make appropriate referrals, providing mental health services, and conducting research to examine psychosocial issues.

The CIP director, Dr. Basudeb Das, as well as top professors from the institutes, Drs. Avinash Sharma, Dipanjan Bhattacharjee, K. Prasad, and Hariom Pachori, were present when the MoU was signed. Vaibhav Singh Parihar, second in charge, and Dr. Brijesh are among those who are represented by SSB.
