Ranchi, Jan 7: Chief Minister Hemant Soren helped an elderly man Shivnath by providing help and instructing officials to make arrangements for proper treatment of Shivnath’s wife, who he would wander with in order to get monetary help.
Shivnath, a resident of Taranagar of Chas block of Bokaro district, had been wandering door to door for the last several years for the treatment of his wife’s broken leg. Over the years he asked all the people he could for help to no avail but assurances.
When he realized that he wouldn’t be able to help treat his wife, he started begging by loading her on a rickshaw and asking for help for his wife’s treatment.
He put up a board on the rickshaw, which said, ‘Please help. I don’t have children or a home. My wife has broken her leg. I request you to help me take care of my wife.’ ‘Help’.
The Chief Minister, upon receiving information, directed the Deputy Commissioner to take immediate action, and instructed that the couple be helped through the benefits offered by government schemes.
On Thursday, a social media user tagged the Twitter handle of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, pleading for help for Shivnath. Taking quick cognizance of the matter, Chief Minister Soren directed the Deputy Commissioner, Bokaro to help Shivnath by making proper arrangements for the treatment of his wife through the benefits of government schemes.
After the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Deputy Commissioner, Bokaro found the address of Shivnath and arrangements were made for his wife’s treatment immediately.
The Deputy Commissioner Bokaro, while replying to the instructions, said, “Tara Devi ji has been admitted to Sadar Hospital Bokaro. A team of doctors is examining her. After supervision, the medical team will ensure further action. For proper treatment for her everything possible will be done.”
