Ranchi, April 21: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today asked the bureaucrats working in the State to communicate with common people in the local language with respect to the latter’s culture and lifestyle.

Soren was speaking on the occasion of Civil Services Day-2023. The programme was organized by the personnel, administrative reform and the official language department at the secretariat auditorium in Dhurwa. He was chief guest in the programme being organized for the first time in the state. Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh and DGP Ajay Kumar Singh were also present on the occasion.

“Government plans can be successfully implemented only when the officers make coordination with the lifestyle and language and culture of the people of Jharkhand. One of the main reasons for the backwardness of our state is also that the communication of the officers with the people here is not being done at all and until the communication is not done between the officers and the people here, the schemes will not be successful. Unless you coordinate in the language local people understand, you will not be able to keep things properly between them and the journey of development will not move forward. Thus, it is my request to take the wheel of development forward, maintain communication with the people of the state. Do such work that people respect you wherever you go,” Soren said.

Earlier, talking about the importance of bureaucrats, he said they are such partners of the executive without which it is not possible to run the system of the state.

“Along with all the challenges, responsibilities of many important tasks are given on your shoulders. It is the responsibility of all of you to protect the system made for the help and all-round development of the people living inside the state and to make action plans for the betterment of the state,” he said.

He further said: “The executive plays an important role in strengthening any state or country. The arrangements of executives in other states and countries are also similar to the executive of our state and country. Role of civil servants is considered important in the system. The scope of work of public servants is very large. Jharkhand has a strength of 2000 public servants. The figure of 2000 public servants to serve the 3.25 crore people of the state does not seem less than anywhere. It is necessary that we and all of you complete our tasks with honesty, sensitivity and seriousness.”

Chief Minister Soren, on the occasion, expressed his concern about the present condition of the farmers and talked about natural degradation in the state known for flora and fauna besides other natural resources.

“Due to lack of vision, people belonging to the farming class are continuously becoming agricultural labourers. While the number of farmers in the state is continuously decreasing, the number of agricultural laborers is continuously increasing. Somewhere in the desire for all-round development, the crime of tampering with natural resources is being committed. It is true that development is very necessary but it is equally necessary to coordinate with natural resources. We cannot draw the line of development by exploiting natural resources. The result of tampering with natural resources is that today unseasonal rains, floods, earthquakes, excessive heat etc. natural calamities keep hovering among us,” he said.
