Ranchi, March 27: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today felicitated as many as 130 good performers of JAC, CBSE and ICSE who appeared from the state in 2022. Apart from this, he also rewarded top position holders of state Olympiad held last year.

There was provision for cash award of Rs 3 lakh, 2 lakh and 1 lakh respectively for first, second and third rank holders.  Along with this, there was also a provision for a laptop worth Rs 60,000 and a mobile phone worth Rs 20,000.

The State school education and literacy department organized the programme at the secretariat auditorium. An amount of Rs 1.32 crore was provided for the reward.

Addressing the reward distribution ceremony, he said that the purpose of the prize distribution was to encourage the children doing well in the field of education in the state.  He said other than money, technical devices like laptops and mobiles are also required for the students and the government has taken initiative to provide the same to the meritorious students.

He said that the government is also trying to cooperate with the parents of these children, so that they do not have to worry much about the ladder after 10th and 12th and promising children can get help.

“This era of competition, awareness about education was seen among the children here. Its better results have been seen. Today promising children have been felicitated. Looking at the potential of these children, it seems that in the coming days more children may come forward. The government will give respect to all those children so that they can do better,” he added.

He, on the occasion, talked about the intellectual capacity of Jharkhand. “Jharkhand has the ability to stay ahead not only in mineral wealth but also in intellectual capacity. This is the reason why the children who were sent abroad for free higher education by the government are now standing on their own feet. Many children who went abroad to study have got jobs abroad,” he said.

On this occasion, the chief minister also inaugurated a coffee table book containing the information and achievements of the art festival organized under the Khelo Jharkhand and Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan organized for intellectual and physical development among the players.
