Ranchi, July 3: Chief Minister (CM) Hemant Soren inaugurated the much awaited and ambitious 132/33 KV grid substation at Jarmundi and 132 KV double circuit LILO transmission line online from his residential office on Monday.

The line started with its inauguration. In this grid substation, power will be taken from Dumka and Deoghar grid. This will be a double circuit line. That is, electricity can come from one side and can go from the other side.

The areas which will be benefited include Basukinath pilgrimage site, Taljhari, Ghoramara, Jarmundi and Sonarayathadi besides others. This is a World Bank sponsored scheme. It cost Rs 61.32 crores. It will help sort out the perennial problem of low voltage.

Inaugurating the grid substation, CM Soren conveyed his best wishes to the office bearers and employees of Jharkhand Urja Vikas Nigam Limited and Jharkhand Urja Sancharan Nigam Limited, who worked to provide uninterrupted and quality electricity to every person of the state.

He said with the availability of 80 MW additional power, there will be uninterrupted and quality power supply in areas like Basukinath pilgrimage site, Taljhari, Ghormara, Jarmundi and Sonarayathadi besides other places.

“Along with the inauguration of Baba Basukinath and Shravani Mela in Deoghar and Dumka district, a power grid sub-station is also being inaugurated here at this important time. This grid sub-station will work from today to serve the public. The power grid sub-station is like a pillar of a house. For uninterrupted power supply in the state, the state government is doing the work of building area-wise power grid substations on a large scale,” he said.

The CM, on the occasion, counted the government’s initiatives to help the poor in the state.

“Along with better power supply, our government is providing free power to such consumer families whose monthly consumption is less than one hundred units. Our government is working with public welfare and sensitivity. Our government has also done the work of giving relief on the outstanding electricity bill. The state government has also made a provision to pay the electricity bill money gradually in instalments to the families who are in arrears of electricity bills,” the CM said.

The CM, on the occasion, also appealed to people to ensure their co-operation for restoration of better and qualitative electricity service.

Agriculture Minister Badal Patralekh was also present in the programme. He praised the CM for his work. “Under the leadership of CM Soren historical work is being done continuously in the field of uninterrupted power supply in the state. The trust of the general public has increased towards the present state government,” he said.

Those present on the occasion included state Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, principal secretary to CM Vandana Dadel, CM’s Secretary Vinay Kumar Choubey, JBVNL Director K.K Verma, and Dumka deputy commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla.
