Ranchi, July 24: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren meets newly elected President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday. Hemant Soren is on his Delhi tour to launch a new tourism policy. He gave her many good wishes on behalf of all the people of Jharkhand.

Notably, Droupadi Murmu was the candidate for the BJP-backed NDA in the presidential election. Despite this, the ruling JMM in Jharkhand supported Droupadi Murmu in the elections. JMM clearly believed that for the first time a tribal woman, is going to sit on the post of the country’s first citizen. Murmu was also the Governor of Jharkhand. It is a matter of pride for Jharkhand. That’s why JMM supported Droupadi Murmu.
To succeed Ram Nath Kovid as the nation’s fifteenth president, Murmu received more than 64% of the legitimate votes, easily defeating joint opposition nominee Yashwant Sinha. She will take oath on Monday.
