Jharkhand CM nod to appoint 159 regional language teachers in Kolhan University

Ranchi, Aug. 23: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today approved a proposal for the appointment of 159 teachers for imparting five tribal languages in colleges and postgraduate centres under Kolhan University.

The five languages include Santhali, Ho, Kudukh, Kurmali and Mundari.

Out of 159 teachers, the number of assistant professors is proposed 147 while the number of associate professors and professors is proposed 8 and 4 respectively.

There are as many as 14 constituent colleges besides post-graduate departments under the university. While 135 teachers are proposed to be appointed for constituent colleges 24 teachers are to be recruited for the postgraduate department.

Subject-wise break-up for 14 constituent colleges of the university is Kurukh (6), Santhali (39), Ho (39), Kurmali (39), and Mundari (12). Subject-wise break-up for PG centres is Kurmali (6), Mundari (6), Santhali (6) and Ho (6).
