Ranchi, May 11: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated a guest house beside Patratu Dam in Ramgarh district, around 40 km from here, to woo tourists.
The guest house constructed after the expenditure of Rs 30 crore by the building construction department in coordination with the tourism department has 20 suites besides conference hall, swimming pool and other facilities for every type of commercial and non-commercial programme.
The most important part of the guest house is that from its each suite a tourist can witness the beauty of the dam, which is one of the best sites of the state which attracts tourists in all seasons.
While inaugurating the guest house, Paryatan Vihar, he talked about the importance of tourism in providing job opportunities to youth and other job seekers. He said like Dal Jheel of Kashmir the dam will also generate job opportunities for thousands of people in days to come.
Expressing his concern over the maintenance of the beauty of the lake and surroundings he urged villagers present on the occasion to ensure that no one pollutes the dam and its adjacent area and maintains its beauty.
Those present during the inaugurations include tourism minister Hafizul Ansari beside Barkagaon MLA Amba Prasad, CM’s secretary Vinay Kumar Choubey, building construction department secretary Sunil Kumar besides officials of the tourism department.
On the occasion, the winners of photography competitions organised by the tourism department were also awarded with a prize cheque.
