Ranchi, March 24: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today danced to the beat of tribal instrument Mandar while celebrating Sarhul, one of the main festivals of tribals when the green leaves start coming out on the branches of trees and plants after autumn.

The place where he was noticed dancing was tribal hostel in Morabadi in the heart of Jharkhand capital. Before he danced with Sarai flowers on his ear given by Pahan (tribal priest) he planted saplings of Shakhua in the hostel premises.

After his dance ended, he promised renovation of their hostel. He said an action plan is ready for a 500-bed hostel besides preserving tribal religious sites like Sarna, Masna and others. He said separate hostels will be constructed for tribal girls in the science block and arts block of Ranchi Women’s College.

Those accompanying Soren included Khijri MLA Rajesh Kachhap and former Mandar MLA Gangotri Kujur besides others.
