Ranchi, May 27: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today questioned the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for not briefing the media since it started raids on various locations of senior bureaucrat Pooja Singhal and her associates on May 6.

His question came in response to the questions of journalists asking about his reaction to repeated ED raids in the state and the recovery of huge cash and incriminating documents.

“Why are they not sharing with you (press) what they have actually achieved during the raids (in the past few weeks)? Have they said anything clearly about what they have actually stumbled upon as yet and put them in the public domain? As far as my information goes, they have not issued even a single statement on this,” a journalist quoted Soren questioning.

The chief minister was of the opinion that the agency which is expected to probe money laundering is playing the role of journalists and electronic media channels spreading news instead of carrying out their works and coming out with facts and findings through the official briefing.

Soren was of the view that the ED should do an official briefing about the outcome of its action. He said the media remained the only source of information regarding the action the ED has taken in the state during the last more than 20 days.
