Ranchi, Nov.22: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today took all precautions to ensure that his emotion does not come out through his words while addressing the inaugural function organised on the occasion of 22nd foundation day of the Jharkhand assembly in the presence of Governor Ramesh Bais, against whom he had filed petition in the high court and gave many public statements.
“Aaj Sthapana Diwas Hai. Khusi Ka Din Hai. Sankshipt mein Apni Baat Rakhne ke Koshish Karta Hoon….Chunki Hum Rajnitik Dal ke log hain ,,Manch mein mike milne ke baad kitna labna bhasan jayega pata hi nahi chalega..lekin aaj ustah ka din hai ..usta vardhak kwaqt ko apnaya jaye (Today is foundation day. It is day of happiness. I will try to keep my speech short as we are people of political parties and it becomes difficult for us to stop when we get mike and stage..),” CM Soren said begging his speech and giving a clear cut to the audience that he was not going to say anything controversial.
Soren, who hardly spoke for 12 minutes, limited his speech mentioning how people of the state struggled against exploitation before and after independence and how their aspirations are being fulfilled in the present government under his leadership. He, during his speech, talked about rural development and role of legislators from the ruling and opposition parties in it. He talked about strengthening the root of democracy to march forward on the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi, Bhim Rao Ambedkar and Sardar Patel.
Though senior legislature Saryu Roy sitting in the front row during the programme said that the body language of the CM did suggest that he was comfortable sitting with the governor as he maintained a safe distance from him and did not share any informal words, action of the CM suggested otherwise.
The CM was noticed walking with the governor when the latter was coming to stage in the assembly premises accompanied by assembly speaker Rabindranath Mahto, parliamentary affairs minister Alamgir Alam after taking guard of honour. On the stage, the CM was noticed lighting lamp with the governor with smile on his face. During his address, he did not make any mistake to mention governor’s presence.
Though except C.P.Singh none of the BJP legislators was present in the programme but Soren did not even bother to mention the same keeping himself away from any controversial statement.
