Daltonganj, Dec 10: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren attended the mega camp divisional programme of ‘Aaapke Adhikar-Aapki Sarkar-Aapke Dwar’ campaign in Daltonganj where he talked about Birsa Harit Gram Yojana and the self-reliant attitude that should be carried by the people of Jharkhand through entrepreneurship.
Talking about the import of eggs and chicken in the state, the CM asked people to go for entrepreneurship in this field (chicken rearing).
“We purchase 6 lakhs eggs from other states. If people of Jharkhand go for chicken rearing business, then this money from the government’s treasure will be used at other places,” the CM said.
About the Birsa Harit Gram Yojna, he said that he came across a video of a man from Latehar district who is growing huge number of mango plants and vegetables in his farms. He stated that this man had received funds for his farming from the state government under the scheme.
The CM urged the people to go for animal husbandry and said that his government will help them in every possible way.
Divisional Commissioner of Palamu, Jata Shankar Chowdhury, spoke about black wheat, black rice, Thailand guava, strawberry, pears etc being grown now in Palamu.
Assets worth more than Rs. 858 cores were disbursed among more than 11 lakhs of the beneficiaries drawn from three districts of this division; Garhwa, Latehar and Palamu today.
The CM also slammed the BJP-led government of the country by saying it ignored Jharkhand during the Covid pandemic and declined its entire request for help during the worst of times then.
“Our state has taken a lesson from all its hardships and now we are only moving forward,” the CM added.
