Ranchi, July 14:  Chief Minister Hemant Soren will launch the Mukhyamantri Sarthi Yojna.

The scheme was expected to be launched tomorrow at Ranchi University’s Aryabhatta auditorium but later it was dropped. Next date will be decided soon.

The scheme’s goal is to connect talented state youth with employment and self-employment opportunities through free skill training.

Under the scheme, self-reliance will be provided with the assistance of the Birsa Centre (Block Level Institute for Rural Skill Acquisition). The scheme will be launched in 80 blocks across the state in the first phase (2023-24). In the coming days, the Birsa scheme will be implemented in all of the state’s blocks.

Youth from all backgrounds will benefit. The government has determined who is eligible for this. Skill training will be provided at the block level for men and women aged 18-35 in the general category and up to 50 in the reserved category (ST/SC/OBC).

During the training, the scheme will provide Rs 1000 to youths as an employment incentive allowance and Rs 1500 per month to girls, disabled people, and transgender people.

If successful youths or women are not employed within three months of completing training, they will receive Rs 1000 via direct benefit transfer (DBT) for a maximum of one year. The scheme also provides $1,000 per month through DBT for non-residential training trainees to travel from their homes to the training centre and back.

The government has provided a toll-free number, 1800-123-3444, for more information on skill training.
