Ranchi, Nov.15: Jharkhand Chief minister Hemant Soren today welcomed President Droupadi Murmu at the Birsa Munda Airport, where she landed this morning to go to Ulithatu, the birthplace of tribal icon Birsa Munda in Khunti.
Notablt, The chief minister reached after giving floral tribute to the tribal icon at Samadhi Sthal in Kokar and garlanding his statue at Birsa Chowk, a place in between the chief minister’s official residence and Birsa Munda Airport.
This is the first time that a President of India will visit Ulihatu for the occasion of Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary.
After the CM welcomed President Murmu, the army personnel gave a guard of honour to the first tribal lady president of the country.
The Birsa Munda Airport director KL Agrawal confirmed the development saying the President hardly stayed for 10 minutes at the airport before she took off for Ulihatu on a chopper
