Ranchi, Jan 4: Amid increasing covid cases in Jharkhand, Health Minister Banna Gupta sighed in relief as the state government crossed the 3 crore mark in administering the covid vaccine doses.
The Health Minister said that there is good news amidst the increasing infection of corona in the state as Jharkhand has crossed the 3 crore dosage mark.
“3 crore 52 thousand 1 hundred 83 doses (first and second) have been done in the state. In this, the first dose administered is 1 crore 86 lakh 81 thousand 412 and the second dose administered is 1 crore 13 lakh 70 thousand 771,” Gupta said.
“The hard work of 11 months and 17 days has paid off wherein the initial day’s quantity of vaccines was provided less in number to Jharkhand,” he added.
Appealing to the people of the state, he said, “everyone must take part in the covid-19 vaccination campaign. Those who have not taken a single dose so far should immediately go to the vaccination centre set by the government and those who have taken the first dose and the time is up for the second dose, should also take the second dose as soon as possible.”
Notably, Jharkhand’s 1 crore doses were completed on 5 August 2021, 2 crore doses on 24 October 2021 and both doses to 1 crore people on 20 December 2021 and 3 crore doses on 3 January 2022.
However, the state will have to administer 4,82,42,624 doses to complete the 100% vaccination. A total of 17 out of the 24 districts of Jharkhand are still on the red list with less than 50% of the population getting the second dose.
