Jharkhand DGP directs action against negligent investigating officers

Ranchi, Feb.2: Jharkhand DGP Neeraj Sinha held a review meeting with SSPs, SPs, Zonal IGs, Range DIGs and senior police officers of all districts at Jharkhand Police Headquarters.

During the review meeting held through video conferencing, the DGP directed the SPs of the districts to crack down on criminal gangs and illegal businesses. Apart from this, the DGP discussed the instructions already given and made them aware of guidelines given for reviewing the murder, dacoity, robbery, kidnapping for ransom, rape, organized crime and pending cases in the district.

The DGP, while reviewing the investigation of pending cases, directed to complete the probe promptly. In this context, he asked to identify those investigators, who have negligently kept the investigation pending for various reasons, and take strict action against them.

He said that criminal incidents which affected the law and order be thoroughly probed to ensure strict action against those involved in it.

During the review meeting, the police chief also directed to take strict action against the organized criminal gangs of the state and also directed to monitor their activities by preparing a list of these criminal gangs.

Apart from this, the DGP directed them to take necessary action against those involved in organised crime like illegal trading of coal, sand and land. Instructions have also been given to run an intensive checking campaign to prevent crime.

Other directives included effective control on criminal activities being run from the jail and for this direction was given to establish proper coordination with the jail administration.

The DGP  instructed that in the district where construction-related work is going on new police pickets be established to control the activity of criminal gangs and to keep a vigil for security.
